Nagaland Public Service Commission was set up in 1965 and revised in ’85. Currently, it has one chairman and four members only. The Nagaland PSC exam also has three stages, prelims, mains and interview in which along with NCERT syllabus one paper is about Nagaland and its history, demography, polity.
The Preliminary examination consists of 1 paper. Mode is objective type and of 200 marks.

The Interview is intended to assess the overall intelligence and the personality of a candidate and also the aptitude and attitude relevant to the services opted for, rather than merely the range of their information and memory.
